UMM AL-HAYMAN WASTE WATER PROJECT

The Umm Al-Hayman Wastewater Project in QIBLA, Kuwait stands as one of the region's most significant infrastructure initiatives, aimed at enhancing wastewater treatment capacity, promoting environmental sustainability, and supporting urban expansion in the southern part of the country. This flagship public-private partnership (PPP) project, developed under Kuwait's PPP law and involving a combination of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) and Design-Build-Operate (DBO) models, features a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant designed to serve a large population with provisions for future expansion. The facility incorporates advanced treatment processes including nutrient removal, tertiary filtration, UV disinfection, and biogas recovery for energy generation, while producing high-quality treated sewage effluent (TSE) for reuse in agriculture, landscaping, and industry. Complementing the plant is an extensive network of pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, and an emergency sea outfall, representing a major infrastructure investment that supports Kuwait's vision for sustainable water management and resource conservation.

BIM Studio played a key role in the project's development by delivering comprehensive Building Information Modeling (BIM) services, creating highly coordinated digital models that seamlessly integrated architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems. These advanced models enabled precise design visualization, early identification of potential issues, and improved collaboration among multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Through structured BIM workflows, our team facilitated effective clash detection, model coordination across complex infrastructure elements, and data-rich simulations that supported informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle—from design and procurement to construction and commissioning. This approach helped minimize on-site conflicts and rework, optimize resource utilization, improve coordination, and maintain high quality and environmental standards required for large-scale infrastructure facilities.

BIM Studio's expertise in delivering advanced BIM solutions for complex infrastructure developments in the Middle East was clearly demonstrated through our valuable contribution to the Umm Al-Hayman Wastewater Project.
