Expo City Project Dubai

The Expo City Dubai C5127 – DEC Phase-03 Utility Diversion project is a major infrastructure initiative focused on coordinating and diverting wet and dry utility networks using advanced BIM methodologies. Executed for Expo City Dubai with stakeholders including KEO International Consultants, Egis Group, and Al Futtaim Colas, the project involves developing LOD 400 BIM models and preparing LOD 500 as-built models using Autodesk Civil 3D.

The project utilizes platforms such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and SYNCHRO Pro for modeling, coordination, clash detection, and 4D/5D simulations. A federated BIM environment ensures seamless coordination across utilities like sewer, stormwater, potable water, irrigation, electrical, and telecom systems.

It emphasizes data interoperability and standardized information management through IFC formats and a Common Data Environment (CDE) using Aconex and ACC. The BIM strategy supports collaboration, real-time data sharing, and better decision-making.

Key objectives include improving coordination, minimizing clashes, enabling accurate quantity take-offs, and supporting construction sequencing through 4D simulations. Deliverables include coordinated LOD 400 models, clash reports, federated models, 4D/5D outputs, and LOD 500 as-built models with COBie integration, ensuring efficient workflows and a strong digital asset for long-term facility management.
