The One Hotel project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was a highly specialized hospitality development requiring precise engineering for its core infrastructure. Led by Dewan Architects + Engineers, with KBR serving as the Project Management Consultant and VTME as the sub-consultant, the project demanded a sophisticated approach to its vertical transportation systems. The primary goal was to seamlessly integrate a complex network of passenger and service elevators into the hotel's high-end architectural framework while ensuring strict adherence to international safety codes.
Initial schematic phase through to detailed design, focusing on developing the elevator models between Level of Development (LOD) 200 and 350. The specific deliverables encompassed the precise 3D modeling of all passenger and service conveyances, alongside the generation of highly detailed elevator assembly designs. To support the physical installation, the project required the extraction of accurate layouts, detailed elevations, and comprehensive shop drawings that aligned perfectly with the building's structural realities.
Integrating complex vertical transportation within a luxury hotel requires flawless spatial planning to prevent costly structural conflicts. To address these challenges, BIM Studio was enlisted to provide expert Building Information Modeling (BIM) services using a robust suite of tools, including Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). Our team proactively coordinated the elevator models with the intersecting architectural and structural disciplines, identifying and resolving any physical clashes in the virtual environment. Executed in strict accordance with ISO 19650 standards, this meticulous digital coordination ensured smooth, clash-free installation workflows and provided the contractors with the exact technical blueprints needed for a safe and successful project handover.
