Located in Dubai, the 01-S003 Nad Al Sheba Development Infrastructure Works was a major urban development initiative requiring precise digital engineering for its extensive road and utility networks. Working in collaboration with the project's lead consultants and main contractors, BIM Studio delivered comprehensive Building Information Modeling (BIM) services tailored to complex infrastructure. The primary focus of our work was establishing highly accurate, data-rich 3D models of both wet and dry utilities across the development, ensuring seamless integration and providing accurate earthwork cross-sections and quantity take-offs (QTO) for the expansive site.
To navigate the intricate spatial challenges of this infrastructure package, our team meticulously modeled gravity networks for drainage and sewer, alongside pressurized networks for water, fire, and irrigation systems. We also seamlessly integrated dry utilities—including street lighting, telecom, and security networks—while simultaneously developing detailed structural drawings for the development's road networks and intersections. A critical component of this rigorous digital phase was proactively conducting clash detection to identify and resolve physical intersections within the dense, underground web of wet and dry utilities. By mitigating these conflicts virtually, we optimized earthworks, grading plans, and pavement designs well before any physical construction began.
These clash-free BIM workflows equipped the contractors with precise design and construction NOC drawings, seamlessly streamlining the required regulatory submissions for RTA PMS, DEWA GIS, and DM INSHAAT.
